minteye is always looking for ways to improve brand engagement and user experience by developing non-intrusive and mobile-friendly advertising platforms. minteye’s Pre-Roll SKIP Ad was adopted by one of the biggest content providers, AOL, minteye is happy to introduce a new HTML5 skippable advertising solution – Hold to SKIP.

Similar to Pre-Roll SKIP Ad, the Hold to SKIP solution serves publishers, advertisers and users. Instead of driving the users away and annoying them with pre-roll advertisements, you offer them an opportunity to save time and skip, simply by holding the button down. The pre-roll video is then replaced by a short advertising message and skips right to the destination content.

Hold to SKIP is optimized for mobile and touch screen devices. For some time, researchers predict that mobile devices will surpass desktop already in 2014. This data requires publishers and advertisers to adjust their platforms to the new conditions: holding or sliding instead of typing and other desktop functions.
